A contemporary garden

This garden consisted of a rotting deck, weed-filled lawn and a shed. The client wanted something contemporary to match the property and their style and to be used for relaxing and entertaining friends.

To create some level changes, a raised sleeper retained lawn was built, with planting beds to three sides. The fourth side doubled as seating. A small secluded hardwood deck was built at the far end of the garden. The shed was reorientated and painted to help ‘hide’ it. A small dining area for four was created close to the house. The planting included three Acer Bloodgood trees for height and colour.
