Cafe Courtyard Redevelopment

The business park has a popular on-site cafe with an enclosed courtyard at the rear, which had received little attention over the years and had a selection of climbers struggling in planters that were too small.

The courtyard planters were stripped out and the walls re-painted. Larger planters were constructed and a bespoke feature surround was built around an original former pumping engine, which was freshly painted.

New vines and other climbers were added and the original ones rejuvenated in their fresh soil. A small tree was added as a centrepiece and the planters filled with a permanent mix of ferns and grasses supplemented with seasonal annuals. Two planters either side of the kitchen door were filled with herbs, tomatoes, chillies and strawberries.
